Little Wooden Manneq—wait a minute…

Can you see what’s wrong with the little wooden mannequin?
Took The Adult Beginner a stupid long time to see. Was all like, “Ooh, what an interesting pose! Wait, something’s….not right….somewhere….??? Guhhhhh….whuh????”
Don’tcha worry though, there’s another cheap, poorly jointed wooden mannequin right here, just waiting to bask in the unusual circumstance of actually being used as a drawing guide.

The Little Wooden Mannequin Project is a collaboration between Adult Beginner and her two year old son. He sets the pose and sometimes removes stuff, she draws.

The lower-arm is missing? I hope it was not swallowed or something.

    • Well that took you no time at all. Dang.
It wasn’t swallowed, I actually found the forearm on the floor and thought it looked like a mannequin part but then looked at the mannequin and didn’t see anything missing. And took a photo of it to draw from later, still not noticing anything. And this was Two Days And Two Photos Ago. Lord.

Oh no! Did she chew it off as her only means of escape following a tragic mountain climbing accident?

  3. sharon says:

But seriously, did your son remove the forearm and then reattach the hand? because if so, i’m impressed with his fine motor skills.

    • Right?
      “She’ll never notice!”
No, the mannequin is all held together inside with springs, so when he broke away the forearm, that whole arm-spring just tightened up and pulled the hand right up to the elbow.
      So freaky.
