These things will totally bite you.

Seriously, why would the evil dude in Swan Lake change all the ladies into swans? Those things are strong! And ornery! And dangerous!
Wouldn’t it make more sense to magic the girls into something a little more manageable? Puffins or something? Come on!

  1. Polly says:

    Puffin Lake.

  2. Nadine says:

Swans are mental! We used to live on a farm and the dad swan would attack a poor goose, chuck it in the creek, and stand on it till it drowned . .

  3. kitteacat says:

Birds are mean! Maybe he could have turned them into cats – cats are totally more graceful than swans. 😊

  4. JustScott says:

Well, that kind of explains the Black Swan.

  5. jenerators says:

Well, yeah, but would Siegfried and Benno have been likely to go puffin hunting?

    • Janet says:

I think Puffins are too cute for words. Unfortunately, I think that they live in isolated areas overlooking the Atlantic. Our Hero would not look as romantic outfitted in climbing gear to hunt a Puffin that would probably fall right into the ocean if he shot it. The fishy stink and the guano stink would also detract from the romantic feel.
Perhaps Our Hero should go puppy hunting. Puppies are cute, sweet, and can be placed in a romantic location. But having Our Heroine dance as a cute puppy would be less romantic.
      Other alternatives to a swan … ?

  6. amandakash says:

Right. And did we all stop to think about how he falls in love with a swan? Mental.

  7. Old Faun says:

Swans are mean – that was the inspiration of Matthew Bourne’s swan lake. I used some of his swan figures for a ad hoc choreography one time.

But one thing I never get out of my head after seeing this ballet on DVD…

    A swan lake in the park…the swans…

And the total joke is, I know a man who met his nowaday friend in a park of a big town – after dark you can find there really some “swans” if you look at the right spots.
