Port de bras #2 makes me think of semaphore.
I wonder what we are signaling?

  1. So lovely, but was the chicken always so angry?

    • Huh. You know, in my mind the Lac du Poulet chicken has super angry eyebrows, but just now looking back through the page, not so angry!
Angry chicken doing port de bras angrily makes me laugh though. She’s so mad!!! Why is she so mad!!! Nobody knows!
Maybe I’ll do #3 with a different animal. Any suggestions?

Love this series! Chickens 4 eva

  3. Jordan says:

At first, I thought the chicken looked angry, but then I realized she’s just fierce! Werk ;)

  4. Trippmadam says:

No, please stay with the chicken for the port de bras. I love it.

  5. Decided to stay with angry chicken for sake of unity. But I also need to memorize the arabesque positions…

I learned semaphore when I was in Girl Guides (you’d call them Girl Scouts over your way). I can’t remember it these days, except that arms crossed before you is the start/end position, so whatever you’re signalling only has 2 letters…

I also really like the chicken. I like chickens, anyway. (as a creature, not as anything edible! :o )

The series is wonderful! And the eyebrows help underline the gaze, where the dancer/chicken should be looking.

Lovely middle 5th position, not hiked up but elbows nice and lifted, with the faintest hint of a curve at the elbow. Aggressive facial expression definitely not classical, could this chicken be prepping to rehearse a Wayne McGregor ballet?
