Got this email from Mr. Adult Beginner the other day, with a challenge for you, Gentle Reader:
“Challenge your peeps,
if there is anywhere a good recording of Rodeo that I can obtain for you
the actual ballet NOT just the music
i have a million versions of the music because AMERICA FUCK YEAH
(I love those jews, they make all the best american music)
I want you to be able to see the ballet
level of Difficulty NO YOUTUBE
*there is a shitty partial recording of the ABT 1973 performance, looks like it’s ripped from VHS, plus it’s part of a documentary so theres talking and only incomplete versions of each number, so NO FUCKING YOU TUBE.
PS. NO YOUTUBE“
He is so fired up about this!
And I like it!
Any ideas?

Dude, I have no idea, but if you figure it out I want to know!!! Been dying to see the real ballet for, like, evar (well, realistically more like since they first used the music for the beef campaign… whatever).
Oh man, that stupid beef commercial!
Not an answer to Mr. AB’s challenge but an interesting data point re: Rodeo:

Yes! He played that for me! It’s totally interesting!
Similarly unable to rise to Mr. AB’s challenge, but I thought you and your readers might also enjoy this really interesting interview with Agnes de Mille that I came across: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lK1l9P8roYE
Look at that sweet set! And that make up! Yes!

Not the entire ballet, yet not you tube either. Is this helpful?
I think that’s that same ABT 1973 partial recording. I mean, not like I won’t totally watch it anyway.
ABT is performing it in March in West Palm Beach, FL. They also did several performances back in October, when they apparently also showed a special documentary about it (http://www.backstage.com/review/dance/american-ballet-theatre-agnes-de-mille-rodeo/)
Well that would be awesome, to see it in real life. Google doesn’t seem to think ABT is bringing it to LA though. (Sad cowgirl)
