Steppin’

Ok so we all know that Steps in NYC is the big mamma-jamma.
Right?
Why, I don’t know.
There are lots of amazing places to take class in New York:
Ailey
BAE
BDC
Joffrey
Peridance
and some other ones probably?
But for some reason Steps is legendary.
So, figured since I’m not taking class due to comical giant belly, might as well observe a class, right?
Called Steps, asked if that sort of thing is allowed, dude on the phone says,
“Well, you can observe, but if you are inside the classroom you must pay the full class price, even to observe. If you don’t want to do that, you can observe from the hallway, through the windows in the doors.”
And I was like, “Bitch please! The Adult Beginner is not about to be standing in the hallway peeking through the window!”
Actually I totally would if I was already there to take another class.
And actually I totally would pay the full price to observe Two Specific Classes:
the beginner class, to see if I could hack it,
Or
the pro class. As there are pros in the class. That would be Really Neat.
As it turned out I didn’t observe either class.
I took a nap instead.
These days, that’s how I do.

P.S. Check it out, Gentle Reader: this guy actually took the pro class! Because he crazy!

AB, for next time you are in NY and no longer have a giant belly, I think you could totally hack the beginner classes there. I take class at Steps whenever I’m in NY, and my favorite is Emilietta Ettlin’s Advanced Beginner class. I find it a tiny bit scary but super fun.
