So, Nichelle at DanceAdvantage has got a little contest going on!
Called the Readers’s Choice Top Dance Blogs of 2010.
Which is is great idea because for some reason there’ve been a lot of Top Ballet Blog lists going around lately that sound all cool and stuff but then turn out to be generated by, like, Chainsaw Mechanics & Marshmallow Enthusiasts Magazine Dot Com. And you’re like, oh! Must read list! And then you’re like, oh, but what do the readers of Chainsaw Mechanics & Marshmallow Enthusiasts Magazine Dot Com know about ballet blogs anyway? And who are they to judge the Top 50 or whatever?
Well, that’s why this contest is a great idea. Because it’s judged by you, Gentle Reader.
And there are lots of categories, including Dance Student/Beginner.
That’s me!
Now, at first I was all full of that Middle School Feeling, and I was all like, No, mustn’t enter contest, what if I can has Rejection??? Oh Noes!!!!!
But, that’s the nice thing about being an adult, you can Get Over the middle school feeling.
So I got over it and then I wrote this note:
If you would like to vote for my blog, just leave a comment on this post.
And I will be Totally Delighted but will not respond because that would skew the comments tally, and judging is based on number of people who comment. So, No, multiple comments from the same person won’t help me win. (But I like the way you think!)
And, um, I’m really sensitive you guys, so don’t check the No box.
And no matter what happens, it an honor just to be nominated!
By myself!
Yeah!
PS, voting is open until December 22nd, then we’ll see if AdultBeginner makes it to the finalists round!

Here’s a vote from a reader, big time fan, and third-year male dancer in Wyoming! Keep up the entertaining writing and awesome attitude.
A vote from me to you…LOVE your blog!
YES! I like you! And the fact that I`m laughing out loud by your nomination-post is why you are a obvious finalist in my version of the “top dance blog 2010″! So here`s to you!!!
)
(and don`t underestimate Chainsaw-mechanics` authority on dance blogs – they spend quite an amount of time sneaking around ballerinas online
Your blog is great – I love it! I read one other ballet blog regularly, but I like yours best because it makes me laugh.
p.s. your note reminded me of one I got from a boy when we were in grade 5. He was nice enough but I remembered his constant nose-picking from grade 1, so I did not agree to be his girlfriend.
u r helpin me reach my goal, back to 400+ laughs/day, like when we were babes, most adulys get n 20 @ best, bless u 4 your sense of humour, i can definitely make x 4 your blogs,

You’ve got my vote! As an adult (re)beginner, I love reading your blog and nodding along wildly at your observations/musings.
Abs, I might enter this contest if I can summon the courage as you have. Even as my therefore competitor, I’ve still gotta give support to you, bringer of ballet hilarity, because your blog is just plain awesomeness. Good luck!
You always bring a smile to my face! Good luck!
You´ve got my vote for sure! I´m not a beginner anymore, but I can always relate to your musings. Love your style

As a dance teacher, its fun to read your blog and feel like I can get a peek into some of my dancers’ minds… plus your note was too cute! Count my vote!
Le Lac Des Poulet totally wins my vote (narrowly ahead of the drawings and the humour). Best wishes from an ex adult beginner (now armchair enthusiast/couch potato)
Looks like I found this blog just in time to cast my ballot on your writing. Your humor and style makes for a good read.
Every post of yours makes me smile! So glad Henrik mentioned you in his blog (it was your ballet dancer vs. monk cartoon)
Yes, yes, yes!!!
Much love from another adult beginner.
Please keep writing!
Yes, I too like you and your blog.
I teach so many adult-beginners, and I really enjoy them. Your musings on your journey in ballet are very informative and at the same time entertaining – a very nice combination.

Yo other dance blogs, I’m happy for you, I’mma let you finish, but Adult Beginner is the top dance blog of all time. The top dance blog of all time!
Retired, I dance with ANY adult who’s got enough nerve to yank on a pair of tights and a leo, and sometimes forget what you beginners go through. YOUR BLOG ROCKS!
Keep on dancin’.
